DarkAges is an immersive medieval fantasy RPG currently in development, in its early alpha prototyping stage.

Concept

The core concept of the game is an Open-World RPG set in Ravena, a northern province of the continent Celladriel. Ravena is a majestic land cold climates, and vast boreal forests, where warm taverns provide refuge from the harsh wilderness.

You will start from the ground up—choosing your race, appearance, and class. Your race determines your core attributes and how the world perceives you, while your class defines your profession, starting equipment, and wealth.

The game has no predefined main quest—you forge your own story. While there will be quests and activities, your journey is entirely yours to shape.

DarkAges offers deep customization, allowing for thousands of unique builds. Master magic, become a hunter in the wilds, strike from a distance, or lurk in the shadows—it’s your choice.

Current State of Development

The game is currently in prototype stage and features:

• A character creator with three playable races (Human, Elf, and Dwarf)
• Various hairstyles and beards for each race
• Three skin tones and four hair colors per race
• A dynamic game world built with interactive objects (Objects are static, while Actors are entities capable of actions like moving, equipping gear, and interacting with the environment)
• An asset system that loads assets from ./content/
• An inventory system
• A Chopping tree mechanic, where players can chop trees with an axe, yielding logs (currently with no functionality)

Controls

• Transfer items between inventories: Drag and drop
